Feist was born on February 13, 1976 in Amherst, Nova scotia, Canada. Feist parents are both artist, her father was a painter and her mother is an art teacher.
Feist's single "1234" was featured in HBO's promos for its summer 2007 schedule. The song and its music video also featured in Apple's advertising campaign for its third generation iPod nano, which premiered on September 5, 2007, which gained interest in the song, resulting in the song's appearence in the Billboard Hot 100.
