The very troubled, Britney Spears was taken from her home by ambulance for the second time early this morning.

A police officer on duty outside Ms Spears’ mansion said that the pop star was being taken “to get help”, although he did not say where.

Reports indicate that emergency services were called by a psychiatrist who has been treating Spears at 1.30am local time. It said that she had been taken to the UCLA Medical Center where she was placed on a 5150 hold - the US equivalent of being sectioned, the involuntary confinement of a person deemed to be a danger to themselves or others.

It’s sad to say, but I think this is one of the last ditch efforts those close to Britney can do to truly help her. Letting her spin out of control while waiting for her to grow up isn’t going to work. She’s too far gone for that.

I do hope this effort to help the pop star will be enough.
