Heath Ledger may have fathered love child

Heath Ledger, The “Brokeback Mountain” star, who died in January in his SoHo loft from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, possibly fathered a daughter when he was 17, the actor’s uncle told Australia’s Daily Telegraph newspaper.

“There is a very real possibility that Heath was the father,” Hadyn Ledger said.

Another family member, who spoke anonymously, claimed the late Aussie actor had a fling with a 25-year-old woman when he was a student at Guildford grammar school in Perth.

If the child is found to belong to the late actor, it could cause quite a stir in the settling of his estate.

While I believe the child is entitled to a portion, I believe it should be protected until the child is of legal age to claim it.  The mother chose to remain quite while Heath was alive - so why now?  Why would anyone choose to come forward after death if not for money.  That is IF she is coming forward.

I’m just not sure what to think about this sort of thing.  I think it would be sad to know that Heath had a child that he never had the chance to know or may have never had the option to know.

Thoughts?
